Wordle Answer Today June 18, 2026 – Puzzle #1825 Solution, Hints, and Word Analysis

wordle answer today june 18 2026

Thursday morning, coffee in hand, and Wordle decided to be difficult. If you got three or four rows deep with mostly gray tiles staring back at you, you’re not imagining things — today’s board really was trickier than it looks once you know the answer.

Here’s the confirmed Wordle answer for June 18, 2026, puzzle #1825, plus hints, a breakdown of the word, and a few notes on why this one slowed so many people down.

Hints Before We Spoil It

Want a nudge instead of the full answer? Work through these in order.

One vowel. That’s it. No letter repeats either.

Think doorways. Think the line you write in a journal before bed. Also the thing you submit when you’re hoping to win a contest.

Starts with E. Ends with Y. That Y at the end is basically acting like a vowel, which trips a lot of people up.

It’s a noun — admission, access, a logged record, a contest submission. Same word, four different everyday uses.

Today’s Answer: ENTRY

The word is ENTRY.

One vowel (E, sitting right up front), four consonants — N, T, R, Y — and nothing repeats. Simple word, everyone knows it, but the structure is what made it harder than usual.

If you got it in three or four guesses, that’s a solid day. If it dragged you to five or six, you’re definitely not the only one — and there’s a clear reason why.

Why This One Was Harder Than It Looks

Most people open Wordle with something vowel-heavy. CRANE, SLATE, ADIEU, AUDIO — words built to test as many vowels as possible in one shot. Problem is, ENTRY only has one vowel. So that whole strategy that usually pays off just… doesn’t, today. You end up with a lot of gray tiles and not much to work with heading into guess two.

Then there’s the Y. People don’t naturally think of Y as an ending letter the way they think of S or E or T. So even once you’ve got E-N-T-R locked in, some folks sit there for an extra guess trying to figure out what comes last, when Y was sitting right there the whole time.

Where The Word Comes From

ENTRY goes back to Old French entree — basically “the act of entering.” That traces further back to Latin intrare, to go into, which comes from intra, meaning within. So the word has meant roughly the same thing for a very long time. Not much linguistic drama here, just a word that’s stayed consistent across centuries.

What’s actually interesting is how many contexts it covers without anyone really noticing the overlap:

  • A door or entryway — the physical entry to a building
  • A contest submission — “I sent in my entry before the deadline”
  • A diary or journal note — “today’s entry was short”
  • A line item in a spreadsheet or database
  • The right to get in somewhere — “entry is free on Thursdays”

Five different situations, same word, nobody thinks twice about it.

What Would’ve Helped Today

A couple of things, honestly. If your first guess comes back mostly gray on vowels, stop chasing more vowels on guess two. Switch to testing common consonants instead — N, T, R, S, L. That’s the actual fix for a vowel-light board like this one.

Also, keep Y in your back pocket as a possible ending letter. People default to S, E, D, T and just forget Y exists half the time. PASTY, FUNNY, EMPTY, HAPPY — Y-endings are more common than most players give them credit for.

If today took you longer than you’d like, running it through WordleBot afterward is worth the two minutes. It’ll show you exactly which guess could’ve gotten you there faster.

Quick Questions

What’s today’s Wordle answer? ENTRY — puzzle #1825, June 18, 2026.

How many vowels does it have? Just one — E. The Y at the end works like a vowel sound but technically isn’t one.

Any repeated letters? Nope, all five letters are different.

Was this a hard puzzle? Medium, mostly because of the single vowel. The word itself is easy, the structure isn’t.

What does entry mean? A few things — the act of going into a place, the right to be admitted somewhere, a recorded item in a journal or list, or something you submit to a contest. Comes from Old French entree, which traces back to Latin for “go within.”
